ActivatorMail requires that SMTP Authentication to be set up in order to Send Email using common email readers. This is a free feature in all email reader programs and is easy to turn on. This feature is used to further protect our servers and users from spammers or mail abuse. All this means is, just like when you get mail using your login account name and password, you must do the same when sending email messages. This keeps spammers from using your account to send mail, because they cannot easily know your account password.
The following provides a quick setup guide for setting up SMTP Authentication in a few of the most popular email clients. If your email client is not shown below you should be able to click
Help within your email client and search for
SMTP-Auth for instructions that apply to your specific client. If you wish to know more about email readers or wish to download and use free email readers or web browser based email, click
